Jock will be among the twelve special guests at this year’s Herceg Novi festival dedicated to the ninth art. To recap, this brilliant artist began his career at Britain’s largest publishing house, 2000 AD, illustrating well-known characters like Judge Dredd, Tor Cyan, and Lenny Zero. This led to work with the American giant DC Comics, where he contributed to prestigious titles such as Hellblazer, The Losers, Green Arrow, and Batman. It was his work on Batman that earned him the status of one of the world’s top comic book stars. He illustrated this hero in the main Batman series as well as in Detective Comics, All Star Batman, The Batman Who Laughs, and many standalone stories.
Jock has also stood out for his work with Marvel on titles like X-Men and Wolverine, and with the leading independent publisher Image Comics on the acclaimed title Wytches. With his authentic style, he has established himself as one of the best cover artists, with his creations gracing iconic editions of Batman, Superman, Daredevil, Swamp Thing, Hulk, American Vampire, Venom, Scalped, and more. Just last week, his legendary cover for “Detective Comics #880” sold for an incredible \$288,000!
He is the recipient of numerous international awards for his comic book work, and he has also made his mark in film production, making key contributions to Hollywood blockbusters such as Hancock, Battleship, Children of Men, Dredd, Batman Begins, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Ex Machina.
