Luca Strati is an artist whose spectacular works we have already had the chance to see in Herceg Novi as part of an exhibition dedicated to the revival of publishing the world’s most influential comic magazine, Heavy Metal Magazine. Strati graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, and then from the comic school in the same city. From his early professional days, it was clear that this artist possesses a rare painterly talent, and his first commissions included creating posters, flyers, and comic book covers. Together with Italian colleagues, he worked on the continuation of the series Physical Laws of Evil, a silent Batman episode, and a fanzine for the globally popular band Iron Maiden. Recognized as one of the highest-quality illustrators, Strati has since accumulated projects drawing covers for comics such as Red Sonja, Beka Bu, Vanja the Lost Warrior, Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Blind Moon, Cthulhu, The Waste World, and culminating in the exceptional honor of creating one of the covers for the first issue of the revived Heavy Metal magazine.
